Lake Anna is divided into a public and private area. The main lake is 18 miles long with 3,000 surface acres on the private side (equivalent to Deep Creek Lake in Maryland but without all the boat traffic!), and 10,000 on the public side. A state park, 6 marinas, and boat accessible restaurants can all be found on the Lake Anna public side. The private side has no marinas or public boat launching facilities.
